Weddings

Weddings. Something every girl dreams of ever since they can remember. And who wouldn't? You pretty much get to be a princess for a day; wearing a beautiful gown, have a beautiful cake, wonderful food, and all your friends and family surrounding you as you celebrate that special day. Some can be extravagant galas, others can be simple get togethers. Either way, it's a celebration.
Last weekend, my cousin Chrissy had gotten married to her boyfriend of 13 years. They have two girls between the ages of five and ten. I don't them often enough to remember their ages. It wasn't a huge thing; the ceremony and reception took place in the same room. The small bridal party consisting of two bridesmaids; a friend and Chrissy's eldest daughter, the Flowergirl; the youngest daughter, and two groomsmen. The groom danced down the aisle, his mom and dad on either side of him, arms linked. He wore a tuxedo, but with his own personal touch; lime green shirt, lime green hankerchief, and lime green running shoes. Personally, I really liked it. I love it when people try to do something a little different.

Next came the bride and father, dancing down the aisle to 'I Gotta Feeling'. Her dress was a simple white gown with lace straps, her hair was nicely done up with a tiara to top it off.

The ceremony was conducted by a friend of the family. Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture of the exchanging of vows and rings, but it was very nicely done. After all was said and done, bride and groom moved to the other side of the room where their table was. Everyone talked, the bride and groom then walked around the room to each table, talking to everyone. An hour later, supper was served. Short, sweet, and to the point. It may not have seemed like much, but family has the sense of keeping things simple and making the best of it; we like things to be short and sweet and to the point.

The cake was simple yet pretty, as you can see at the top of this post. Unfortunately, camera was not well charged, so I don't have more pictures. I'll have to get them from my aunt, and maybe post them on my flickr account. The father-daughter dance was beautiful; Chrissy ended up crying when she said she wouldn't! My parents and had left early in the evening, but when we left, everyone was having a grand old time. We had stayed long eneough to see the cutting of the cake. All in all, a very nice wedding.

All that aside, I have to wonder; am I the only girl who doesn't dream of what their wedding will be like? Personally, I don't ever see myself getting married. But what I want to know is; What's your dream wedding? And, if you're already married, what was your wedding like?

Guess you can say curiousity killed the cat here!
